ADVOCATES FOR YOUTH

Advocates for Youth partners with youth leaders, adult allies, and youth-serving organizations to advocate for policies and champion programs that recognize young people’s rights to honest sexual health information; accessible, confidential, and affordable sexual health services; and the resources and opportunities necessary to create sexual health equity for all youth.

PROUD THEATER

Proud Theater-Green Bay was launched in 2018 to serve youth from the Green Bay and Fox Cities areas thanks to a generous grant from the LaForce Family Foundation. This year, Proud Theater-Green Bay would have presented its first show. However, we are all in the midst of a global pandemic. Despite COVID-19, our amazing Green Bay youth and mentors still worked together to present a socially distanced scene showcase.
The scene showcase features pieces created by youth throughout the 2019-20 programming season. While not all of the Green Bay youth were able to take part in the all-virtual production, each of them impacted the pieces through Proud Theater’s collaborative process. We are incredibly proud of our Green Bay team for this year’s showcase!

IT GETS BETTER PROJECT

For the last decade, we’ve been helping people like you embrace their authentic selves. Our goal is to make that journey more joyous by empowering you through the stories of others who have shared your experience. Whether you need inspiration, help, or community, we are here for you. You are more powerful than you realize. In 2010, Dan Savage and his partner, Terry Miller, uttered three words that would give rise to a global movement focused on the empowerment of LGBTQ+ youth — it gets better. What began as a wildly successful social media campaign to provide hope and encouragement to young LGBTQ+ people has evolved into a major, multi-media platform capable of reaching millions of young people every year through inspiring media programming, a growing network of international affiliates, and access to an arsenal of community-based service providers.

GSA (GENDERS AND SEXUALITIES ALLIANCE) NETWORK

GSA clubs, or GSAs for short, are student-run organizations that unite LGBTQ+ and allied youth to build community and organize around issues impacting them in their schools and communities. GSAs have evolved beyond their traditional role to serve as safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth in middle schools and high schools, and have emerged as vehicles for deep social change related to racial, gender, and educational justice.
A growing body of research confirms that the presence of a GSA has a positive and lasting effect on student health, wellness, and academic performance. It can also protect students from harassment based on sexual orientation or gender identity, and improve school climates for all students in the long-term.

GSAFE

GSAFE values integrity, honesty, openness, and authenticity.  They are committed to youth leadership, anti-racism, and social justice and recognize we are all life-long learners and teachers. Members of GSAFE are driven by a vision of a world free of oppression based on gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race, and other identities and strive to model the world we want to exist through our everyday actions.
