Update on Mask Policies
Staff COVID-19 Vaccination Update
March 31, 2021
While we are encouraged by vaccinations and improved positive COVID-19 case rates in our community, the Neenah Joint School District will maintain its mask policies and follow Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines until further notice. This decision is in response to today’s Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling eliminating the governor’s mask mandate. The District mask policies were in effect at the start of the school year even before the governor’s mandate in late September. While there has been encouraging news recently, the numbers for vaccinations and positive cases are not yet at a point where we can relax our District policies. We still need to maintain the health and safety of everyone in our schools, which in turn, keeps our entire community safer. All students and staff members will be required to continue to wear masks on a daily basis. All spectators able to attend athletic events will also be required to continue wearing masks and sit socially distanced. These policies will be reviewed this summer in accordance with CDC guidelines and advice from our local health officials. Details about policies for the 2021-22 school year will be announced prior to the school year.

Staff members who were on the list submitted to Aurora Health to receive a COVID-19 vaccine should have received an email on Tuesday with a unique code and instructions on how to make an appointment.
Those who did not receive the email but would still like to make a vaccine appointment have a number of options. The UW-Oshkosh Culver Center (where the Aurora vaccinations are taking place) has plenty of openings. Prevea also has numerous openings for educators at its UW-Green Bay location and local Walgreens stores have openings. Meijer in Appleton has also contacted us indicating they have vaccines available for NJSD employees. Staff may register at Meijer by texting "COVID" to 75049 and will then get a call to set up an appointment.
The Winnebago County Health Department website lists several additional providers offering vaccinations. All of our staff members are in the high priority category and are currently eligible to receive vaccinations.

District EPSL Extension Form
District-sponsored Emergency Paid Sick Leave (EPSL) is in place to help ensure our employees are able to observe quarantine guidelines related to COVID-19 for the second semester. Each employee’s remaining 2020 allotment of the initial 10 days of EPSL will carry over into 2021.
If you have requested to work from home, you will be notified of the approval by Human Resources. All staff members are required to report to work as usual. You must not assume you can work from home. You will be notified of approval of time off or work from home requests by Human Resources. Please be patient as we anticipate a large volume of requests during this time.
Rapid COVID Test
The purpose of the rapid testing program is to keep staff members in the classroom and avoid having to wait several days to receive a test result for themselves or a family member. If a staff member is in quarantine for close contact or will not be missing time in the classroom while waiting for test results, the staff or family member is not eligible for the rapid test. The District will assume all costs associated with the test.
Staff members who would like to get a rapid test for themselves or a family member should make their principal or supervisor aware and then fill out the form at the link below for approval from the Human Resources office. Once approved, employees will be sent a link to set up a testing time and location. Testing will be offered at six sites: Greenville, Kimberly, Menasha, Oshkosh, Lomira and Hartford.
